An Invitation to Join Us

Come get involved in fun on the water here on Lake Murray, just west of Columbia, SC. WPYC, the Windward Point Yacht Club, is a social club affiliated witih Lake Murray Docks, Inc. (LMDI), a marina on the north shore near Lake Murray dam which was, at the time it was built, the largest earthen dam in the world. WPYC is made up of boat owners at LMDI.

July 4th Raft-Up

Our Port Captain, Greg Gisler, is hosting a Raft-Up for the 4th of July Fireworks.

He will be anchored in Two Bird Cove at 7:00pm on Saturday July 4th. The Fireworks are to begin at 9:15pm. B106.7 FM and 98.5 FM are to host the music for the Fireworks

WPYC Youth Director Christina Culp has something for everyone on Saturday, July 25. Let her know if you'd like to attend so she can have enough birdhouse kits and guitars on hand.

Sail Camp

Adult Sail Day: April 25th - Would you like to improve your sailing skills? We may have the answer for you. We have several volunteers ready to take you out sailing. They will share their years of experience to make you a better sailor. If you would like to take advantage of this great opportunity, email us at info@windwardpointyc.org. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th at 10:00am, but upon request sail times can be adjusted.

Youth Sail Camp:

WPYC Youth Sail Camp 2009

Calling all WPYC youth and your buddies. Plan on joining us for a fun introduction to sailing this summer. Sail Camp is run by member volunteers of Windward Point.

We can accommodate about 12 students, ages 6 to 12 years old. There is only one, very important, prerequisite, being comfortable jumping into and swimming in deep water wearing your life jacket

Dates:

Friday evening, June 12, 6-9 PM, land safety and stations; Saturday on-water sailing and conclusion, 8 AM to 3:30 PM

Prerequisite to Saturday on-water is Friday evening safety program.

Participants must have an adult contact present on the property at all times.
