Chartered in 1985, Windward Point Yacht Club has served the sailors of Lake Murray for 20 years.

Windward Point Yacht Club extends you a warm welcome as a fleet of sailors who take sailing seriously, but not ourselves.

Located in central South Carolina, Lake Murray covers seventy eight square miles, with over 500 miles of shoreline. Windward Point Yacht Club is found in a small cove looking out across the impressive Lake Murray Dam and is home port to approxi-mately 150 yachts. There are live-aboards, casual sailors, family sailors, and extreme racers in our membership. Everyone finds a place at Windward Point Yacht Club regardless of what drives them as a boater.

Home to the lake’s largest cruising fleet, we provide an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere for all our members and guests. Windward Point Yacht Club hosts several events throughout the year at nominal or no charge to members and guests. These activities take place at our facilities and on the waters of Lake Murray. Our goal is to provide a versatile social environment while promoting safe boating and seamanship.

What We Do

We organize races, clinics, socials, volunteer work projects, outings for senior citizens, overnight sails (with raft-ups), day excursions and away trips to other sailing adventures.
